What is Medication Therapy Management?

Medication therapy management (MTM) is an effort to make medication use more patient-centric. Patients should know exactly how their medications work, why those medications are used, and any potential side effects or drug interactions that might occur. Clinical pharmacists are trained medication experts, and with MTM, they are personally available to you. Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date list of yours or a loved ones’ medications in a centralized location—as well as the ability to ask about medication issues—will ultimately improve your healthcare and limit any unnecessary doctors visits, drug costs, co-pays, and deductibles.
